4-2 in my last 6 AFL plays.
Portland at San Jose
10:30pm July 18
1* Portland +28.5
Portland is off 72-48 win at home against Jax. QB Kyle Rowley was 22/29 for 235 yards and 6 TD's without an interception. The Thunder are 4-10 and have lost both games to San Jose by 19 points. WR V'Keon Lacey had 10 catches and 2 TD's last week. San Jose has just one loss but plays champion Arizona next in their home finale (the game is 13 days away as SJ has a bye next week).
San Jose is led by QB Eric Meyer, who has played great. They are well coached and should be favorites to win the Arena Bowl. They have many big wins this year.
Portland has 10 losses but none have been ugly and by more than 25 points. They are used to playing San Jose and should be confident after playing well last week. It does concern me that Rowley hasn't played well vs. San Jose but the backup has come in and done enough that both losses were by 19. Rowley does have plenty of experience in the AFL and has 9 TD's without an int. in his last two games. Hopefully, Portland can stay within the big number.
